We are currently seeking a full-time Pharmacy and Warehouse Manager to join our team!

Position Summary

The Pharmacy and Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for the integrated management of pharmacy services and warehousing/logistics operations across the Hamilton site. This leadership role ensures the delivery of safe, timely, and efficient pharmacy services and the effective management of biomedical and warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory control, a-z order fulfillment, and logistics.

The role is accountable for maintaining compliance with corporate policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and applicable regulatory standards (OCP, ISO, GMP, USP 797, NAPRA). The incumbent will lead a multidisciplinary team to achieve high performance in patient care, inventory accuracy, cost control, and operational excellence

Operational Leadership

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy and warehouse, ensuring service standards and regulatory compliance are consistently met.
  • Oversee and coordinate staffing levels for pharmacy and warehouse teams, ensuring adequate coverage aligned with workload and business needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop pharmacy and warehouse personnel, promoting a culture of engagement, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Maintain full compliance with quality management systems, health and safety policies, and patient safety protocols.

Pharmacy-Specific Duties

  • Through the leadership of the pharmacy team, ensure clinical appropriateness and accuracy of dispensed medications.
  • Guide pharmacy staff in sterile compounding, clinical decision-making, and expanded scope of practice.
  • Maintain current knowledge of ODB reimbursement, third-party billing, drug pricing, and inventory controls.
  • Support implementation and ongoing monitoring of pharmacy SOPs, training documentation, and CAPA responses.

Warehouse & Logistics Duties

  • Oversee all warehouse operations including receiving, replenishment, picking, packing, and shipping and biomedical activities.
  • Ensure timely fulfillment of orders, equipment availability, and customer satisfaction in coordination with pharmacy operations.
  • Develop, revise, and control SOPs for warehousing functions to support ISO, health and safety, and patient safety standards.
  • Monitor warehouse KPIs and use performance data to drive continuous improvement and cost-effective service.
  • Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers as required.

Strategic & Financial Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop departmental budgets and manage expenditures within approved limits.
  • Conduct regular analyses of operational activities to identify improvement opportunities and reduce costs.
  • Participate in and lead projects related to process optimization, automation, and system enhancements across both departments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Facilitate open communication across departments including customer service, cleanroom, IT, finance, purchasing and quality assurance.
  • Represent the pharmacy and operations functions at internal/external meetings, audits, and client site visits.
  • Maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including HCCSS care coordinators, hospitals, and prescribers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in pharmacy and/or logistics/warehouse operations, preferably in a healthcare or GMP environment.
  • Pharmacy Degree (BScPhm or PharmD), and licensed as a Pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A register) an asset
  • Logistics/Supply Chain or equivalent experience an asset
  • Experience with IV sterile compounding, ODB billing, SAP, and ISO compliance is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites (Hamilton & Mississauga).
