Reporting to the Cashier Department Head (or his/her delegates), the Cashier is responsible to provide good service to our customers by building rapport, fulfilling their requests and providing fast and accurate checkout service.
T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 36 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 13 in Ontario, and 2 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.

- Create good customer experience via delivering fast and accurate checkout service, prevent possible fraud (PLU # input, scan merchandise, transaction discrepancies, identify counterfeit / fake cards)
- Provide customers with proper packing service (light items on top of heavy items, separation of hot and cold, raw and cooked classification)
- Greet customers by providing good customer service with smiles and friendly enthusiasm
- Timely processing of fresh and frozen goods; prevent and minimize shortage
- Record totals of transactions and calculate total payments received during a time period accurately
- Monitor checkout stations to ensure that they are well-kept and are working appropriately; maintain checkout area cleanliness
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior
- Flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evening hours and statutory holidays
- Able to stand for a long time and use work related tools in a safe manner
- Good communication skills, able to communicate in English and Chinese (Cantonese &/or Mandarin) an asset
- Knowledge of basic work safety, Canadian currencies and essential mathematics
- Relevant experience in handling cash is preferred
