What You’ll Like About This Job
FortisBC is hiring Compression & Controls Technicians for its Kamloops, BC location to maintain and operate compressor stations and SCADA systems. This hands-on role involves installing, troubleshooting, and programming mechanical and electronic equipment to ensure safe and efficient gas transmission. The ideal candidate holds a relevant trade certification and has proven competency in gas operations and control systems.

- On-call, overtime, and travel-based work assignments
- Industrial Electrician ticket (mandatory)
- 2–4+ years of compression/gas experience depending on level (CCT1, CCT2, CCT3)
- Certification in instrumentation, industrial electrical, or millwright trades
- Ability to work independently, on-call, and travel as needed
- Excellent safety awareness and communication skills
- Dual trade certification (e.g., Electrician + Instrumentation)
- Experience with SCADA, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic control systems
- Proven ability to supervise and coordinate with contractors
- Strong documentation and planning skills in gas infrastructure environments
