Victoria Cool Aid Society acknowledges the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, on whose traditional territories we build homes, lives, and communities. The Victoria Cool Aid Society (Cool Aid) provides affordable housing, emergency shelters, primary health and dental care, nutritious meals, and wellness programs such as recreation, employment, and volunteer opportunities. With your support, the staff helps more than 12,000 people annually at 20 locations in Victoria, Saanich, and Langford. Cool Aid houses and supports more people who have been homeless in their community than any other organization on Vancouver Island.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director of Housing and Shelters, this is a unique opportunity to join the management of an innovative not-for-profit, in an environment that is committed to promoting continuous learning, creativity, and collaboration.
The Manager is responsible for effectively integrating and providing services that align with the Society’s values and guiding principles, particularly through the lens of our clients and community partners.
The successful applicant will have knowledge of mental health and addictions best practices and resources, supportive housing and/or emergency shelter regulations, service delivery models, and community collaboration.

Job Summary

The Manager is responsible for effectively integrating and providing services that align with the Society’s values and guiding principles, particularly through the lens of our clients and community partners.
The successful applicant will have knowledge of mental health and addictions best practices and resources, supportive housing and/or emergency shelter regulations, service delivery models, and community collaboration.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Direct supervision of staff in the performance of all duties.
- Mentoring and providing formal and informal coaching in performance management.
- Maintaining consistent, high-quality services and infrastructure while striving to achieve strategic and operational goals.
- Effectively integrate and provide services that align with the Society’s values and guiding principles, particularly through the lens of our clients and community partners.
- Implement occupational health and safety procedures and practices as they apply to regulation and agency requirements, monitor staff comprehension, participate in risk assessments and investigations.
- Oversee day-to-day financial activities of the programs.
- Work with the Director to develop and initiate public relations materials and activities that promote services.
- Investigate and, as possible, ensure successful resolution of complaints.
- Baccalaureate degree in related human services, administrative field, or a combination of training and experience.
- Seven (7)+ years’ experience within a community social services context.
- Senior leadership experience within a multi-service complex organization.
- Complete the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check.
- Salary: $90,542.40 annually.
- Work Locations: 535 Ellice St. - Rock Bay Landing.
- Work Days: Monday to Friday (days and hours negotiable)
- Shift Times: 12:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
- Weekly Hours: 40 hours.
- Union: Exempt.
- Benefits Eligible for 100% employer-paid including health and dental care benefits. Long-term disability, employee and family assistance program, compensatory time off, paid sick time, and four weeks of vacation.
- Job Type: Full-time, temporary position until March 2026, with the possibility of extension.
