We are looking for a creative thinker who loves to work with their hands to build novel devices and scale them. In this role you will design and fabricate bench-scale Mechanicals and implement new equipment into our pilot line.
This role is instrumental to the development of our unique plant-based fish manufacturing process and will help transition our production from lab scale to pilot line scale.

As a Mechanical Engineer, You Will
- Create 2D and 3D CAD models of Mechanical designs from hand drawings
- Plan, design, and perform experiments
- Conceptualization, design, and fabrication of laboratory equipment and Mechanicals
- Create the standard protocol for maintenance and inspection of the machinery
- Source materials and tools required for prototyping
- Provide all teams involved with instructions to operate or troubleshoot machinery
- Complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner without supervision
- Ensure all designs are compliant with legal safety and design requirements
- 3-5 years of hands-on practical experience building Mechanicals, with some experience in the food industry
- Design of experiments and designing in compliance
- Highly experienced working with 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, Onshape)
- Excellent familiarity with principles of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Ability to properly and safely use 3D printers, laser cutters, lathes, CNC mills, hand and power tools, and other equipment commonly found in a machine shop
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing/fabrication techniques
- A portfolio of sample work as part of your application
- Understanding of biochemistry and/or food processing
- Basic coding experience (Python, Matlab, Excel VBA)
- Fluids background, specifically with non-Newtonian fluids and CFD
- Thermodynamics background, specifically experience with refrigeration is a plus
