AtkinsRéalis is a key delivery partner for the airports and aviation sector. As a result of our success, we are hiring for a Climate Change & Carbon Manager to join our growing team. The Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing the successful delivery of complex projects within the organization, ensuring that they are executed according to scope, schedule, cost, quality standards, and risk management protocols. The incumbents require a wealth of experience in managing large infrastructure projects, particularly in the context of international airport development or other similar complex programs.
This role will be based on site in Toronto, ON.

This role will be based on site in Toronto, ON.
Your Role Within The Team
- Provides climate change and carbon management advisory and quality review for various design & construction programs, targeting Net Zero strategy implementation.
- Confirms that the climate change and carbon management approach to the relevant works is consistent with Airport client's vision and strategy for a sustainable, Net Zero, and environmentally friendly future.
- Confirms that facilities design considers self-sustaining circular ecosystems, energy efficient design, minimization of embodied carbon, use of clean energy and other infrastructure requirements for the reduction of the overall carbon footprint to achieve Net-Zero GHG.
- Supports in progression of Net Zero design for buildings and facilities, including relevant review of Life Cycle Assessments for carbon.
- Oversight of Resiliency Planning Specialist to periodically update climate forecasts and ensure that facilities and infrastructure maintain operational resilience to changes in extreme weather forecasted due to climate change.
- Coordinates with Stakeholder Relations and Communications (SR&C) and external stakeholders on all areas of sustainability strategy.
- Coaching, mentoring, and supporting the career development of the airport customer personnel.

- Typically, a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the environment, energy, or sustainable design sector.
- A minimum of 5 years experience of delivering sustainability outcomes in the infrastructure sector. Experience in large complex programs considered an asset.
- Holistic understanding of sustainability and Net Zero, with a particular interest in decarbonization (Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions).
- Demonstrable understanding of sustainability/ESG, Net Zero GHG and climate accounting, management, and disclosure standards and guidance.
- Understanding of Airport Carbon Accreditation GHG reporting and disclosures
- Demonstrable experience in buildings and/or infrastructure life cycle assessment and Net-Zero carbon design and low-carbon materials.
- Strong technical capability in all project phases and ability to solve complex problems including by using data analytics to support solution identification.
- Recognized degree in related engineering, planning, or sustainability field and professional certification (PE, CEM, LEED AP, ENV SP).
