Position Overview

Are you detail-oriented, business-minded, and skilled at balancing the needs of tenants with strategic organizational goals?

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Manager, Commercial Services. Reporting to the Director, Passenger Retail Experience, the successful candidate will help manage the leasing and tenancy management of the commercial program, as well as support long term planning aspects related to the commercial portfolio within the terminal building. Prior to COVID-19, YVR’s commercial program generated around $400M in terms of sales and covered more than 140 concessions in the terminal. Despite this challenging landscape, YVR is looking to strengthen its commercial foundation and plans to reinvigorate and enhance its commercial program by providing an increased range of products, services and introducing new brands and concepts.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Negotiating legal agreements and working closely with third parties, airlines and governmental agencies, and consultants, in relation to leasing opportunities, relocations and temporary requirements.
  • Developing and monitoring business plans and the annual budget process for the portfolio, conducting financial analyses and recommending solutions for improving revenue.
  • Formulating sound business cases to procure the necessary funds for new capital projects and managing them accordingly.
  • Contributing to the development of the strategic plan both in the short and long-term, allowing the department to meet its goals related to revenue generation and operational excellence.
  • Providing support and direction to a team of professionals – this includes monitoring work efforts and performance, hiring, coaching, motivating and supporting developmental activities, conducting formal evaluations and applying appropriate discipline.

Key Qualifications Include

  • Five (5) years of recent related experience in leasing, real estate, and/or property management in a high-volume environment (e.g. department store, shopping center, stadium) plus three (3) years of management experience, supplemented by a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience preparing and presenting business cases and rationale to senior management
  • Demonstrated program management and implementation experience.
  • Team player with well-developed interpersonal skills and proven experience managing and coaching teams for high performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience delivering presentations.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and property management programs.

Salary Range : $102,880 to $154,320 per annum, based on a 37.5 hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity. Performance-Based Incentive: Eligible for an annual bonus target at 15% of your annual salary.
