Role Objective:
Working with the Research & Development, Big Data Development, and Big Data Analytics teams, the Project Manager is responsible for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a variety of projects. The Project Manager will support multiple projects and multiple teams and will be required to stay up-to-date on the moving parts and nuances of the project and the groups within the organization that contribute to the project for which they are responsible. The successful candidate will be flexible, determining when a traditional PM approach is best or when a more customized approach would be most effective.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties:

Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
- Sets up and maintains project artifacts
- Creates, executes and tracks project plans
- Negotiates project schedules and resources between multiple teams and projects in a diplomatic manner
- Provides guidance on prioritization of projects and/or tasks
- Communicates and guides staff through the project management process
- Communicates effectively with project teams and other stakeholders to ensure all project requirements and milestones are understood and delivered according to the project plan
- Negotiates with stakeholders to meet project deadlines
- Determines when it is necessary to hold status meetings and effectively chairs these meetings
- Works with stakeholders and development teams to identify issues and assist with a plan for resolution
- Creates and maintains full documentation of the project life cycle
- Ensures the mechanisms of change management are in place and effectively executed
- University or College education in a related field
- 2+ years of direct experience in project management, preferably with some experience with large-scale data projects
- Understanding of both traditional and agile project management methodologies and the ability to execute against both
- Interpersonal Skills – Approachable and easy to talk to. Relates well to all kinds of people in the organization. Able to effectively build rapport with others. Uses diplomacy and tact. Maintains composure and shows an ability to resolve conflicts and gain agreement.
- Planning/Organizing—Effectively prioritizes and plans work activities. Ability to multitask. Organizes or schedules other people.
- Change Management - Develops workable implementation plans and communicate changes effectively building commitment and overcoming resistance.
- Communication Skills – Able to clearly communicate ideas and expectations. Effectively listens for understanding and asks questions for clarification. Presents ideas effectively in both verbal and written form. Excellent attendance.
- Strong skills with Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Project, and Word
