What You’ll Like About This Job
FortisBC is hiring Equipment Operators in Penticton, BC to support construction and maintenance on its natural gas distribution systems. This hands-on role includes full training, backhoe and excavator operation, and pipeline installation. Ideal for mechanically inclined professionals looking to expand their skills in a field utility environment.

- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with clean record
- Experience operating excavation equipment near utilities
- Safe work practices and strong teamwork skills
- Ability to meet residency and standby requirements
- Experience in shallow construction using rubber tire backhoes
- Gasfitter B-ticket or welding credentials
- Versatility in using trenchers, mini excavators, or cranes for gas work
