- 4+ years’ experience
- Front End Designer designing and enhancing digital services via web and other channels
- Developing UX artifacts (scenarios, storyboards, wireframes, flows, interactive prototypes)
- Working in a cross-functional product team within an Agile environment
- Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and accessibility best practices
- Proficiency in human-centered design and design thinking methodologies
- Hands-on experience with modern front-end design tools (Axure, Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, etc.)
- Experience building and maintaining component libraries/design systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to justify and articulate design decisions
- Proven ability to explore multiple design solutions via sketches, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
- Production design experience for web, mobile, and complex enterprise applications
- Develop creative, evidence-based front-end design solutions aligned with corporate standards and design systems
- Create and iterate UX artifacts; wireframes, prototypes, design pattern libraries, style guides, and build-ready specifications
- Plan, conduct, and report on design research and usability testing; translate findings into actionable design recommendations
- Provide justifiable design decisions to align project teams, program areas, and senior management
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, demos, retrospectives) and backlog refinement
- Analyze and recommend accessibility improvements to ensure compliance with applicable standards
- Portfolio: Submit an attached personal portfolio with annotated work samples; online-only portfolios will not be accepted
- Duration- 12 months
- Extension- Up to 24 months
- Hours- 36.25 hours/week (7.25 hours/day)
- Location- Remote (Edmonton, AB; quarterly in-person meetings)
- Work arrangement: Primarily remote; quarterly on-site collaboration in Edmonton; occasional Alberta travel for field research (cost to consultant)
