As a Legal Counsel, your role enables you to work across any legal situation that may be encountered related to the development, publishing and marketing of videogames. The legal counsel will report to the Legal Director, Privacy & Commercial, and will closely collaborate with the business teams at Behaviour. In this role you will :
- Review, draft, and negotiate various contractual agreements (such as service agreements, software license agreements, data processing agreements, etc.).
- Provide legal advice to production, marketing, and administrative teams on legal matters that may impact their activities, including commercial law, intellectual property, privacy, and contracts.
- Advise the company on compliance with existing and emerging privacy and technology laws, and maintain up-to-date data records.
- Draft legal documents required for websites and games (e.g., End User License Agreements, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policies).
- Participate in special projects and perform other related tasks as needed.
- You are a member of the Quebec Bar with 2 to 5 years of experience, either in a law firm or in-house, ideally within the entertainment industry (an asset).
- You have solid knowledge of commercial law, intellectual property rights, and privacy legislation.
- You are bilingual in English and French (spoken and written), as many of the contracts to be reviewed are drafted in English.
- You are a team player with a positive attitude and demonstrate initiative.
- You are comfortable with technology, proficient in Microsoft Office, and have experience using DocuSign and Office 365 (an asset).
