The Site Material Manager is the guardian of the project inventory under is control. His mission is to ensure material availability on-site for the construction operations. To do this he must synchronize between procurement or expediting and construction operations. He must ensure the material under is control is maintained, correctly stored, maintain an accurate inventory and traceability of material movements and ownership. To help him he has a team of Material Coordinators to execute the required field tasks such hand overs, cycle counts, receiving and so on. This job description can vary depending on site size and configuration. Not every project is the same, on some project he might manage external warehousing on others not, flexibility is expected.

What You Will Do
- Material Management: Oversee and manage the entire material management process on site, including identification, storage, and distribution of materials.
- Inspection Coordination: Coordinate incoming inspections with the mixed crew and quality control teams.
- Inventory Management: Maintains an accurate physical and system-based inventory. Supervise Material Handling Coordinator.
- Logistics Coordination: Depending on site configuration and size can be responsible to manage external warehousing and transport to site from external warehouse.
- Vendor Relations: Ability to liaise and negotiate with transport and warehousing suppliers.
- Performance Metrics: Track inventory accuracy, quality, delivery times. Can have to track other other specific metrics to improve a process and implement improvements.
- Problem Resolution: Address any arising issues or complaints.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain and keep comprehensive records on material handling.
- Coordination with Procurement or Expiditing: Work closely with procurement and or expediting to convey job site needs and expedite materials.
- Preservation and Traceability: Manage the preservation of materials by coordinating material maintenance during sotrage and ensure traceability of material certificates.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, information systems, or a related field or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Certifications in relevant logistics or inventory management systems are an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, inventory management, or a related role.
- Proven expertise in using and managing inventory management systems.
- Experience in training and supporting staff on logistics platforms.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in driving and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to develop and maintain KPI dashboards.
- Experience in managing complex system transactions.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- You are functional in both official languages (French and English).
