Context

We are looking for an Architect with experience in delivering complex projects from start to finish. This is a great opportunity for a passionate and creative mind to take on dynamic and challenging projects and be part of creative design initiatives on transit projects both locally and internationally.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Contribute to the process of creating and developing the fundamental design principles to guide a project from the earliest stages of its conception and continue to assist in its development and refinement through subsequent design and implementation phases. This is including, but not limited to:
    • site selection;
    • project planning;
    • programming;
    • consultant selection;
    • contract negotiations;
    • construction contract administration;
    • facilities management and maintenance;
    • Other design and construction activities as per each project requirements.
  • Collaborate with practice leaders and colleagues to enhance Systra Canada Transit Station & Facilities department’s culture for design excellence
  • Assist in the preparation of Business Development (BD) proposals in bidding for new work as needed.
Profile/Skills

Education: Bachelors degree in Architecture and Member of the Order of Architects of Quebec (OAQ).

Years of experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in architectural design (preferably in transit and train stations/facilities).

Technical Skills

  • Experience in all phases of project design development
  • Good knowledge of building codes and specifications
  • Experience with Revit
  • Experience in transit station design will be considered as an asset
  • Experience on large multidisciplinary teams will be considered as an asset
  • Fluency in French and functional level of English in order to be able to work closely in collaboration with stakeholders in Ontario.
