As a Server, you will be responsible for delivering prompt, professional, and friendly service to guests while ensuring food and beverage quality and presentation meet Marriott brand standards. You’ll help create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits and guest satisfaction.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Greet all guests promptly and courteously; take food and beverage orders professionally.
- Serve food and drinks according to health, hygiene, and presentation standards.
- Clear and reset tables efficiently to maintain flow of service.
- Maintain cleanliness of service areas, including wait stations, tables, and dining areas.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including side work as assigned.
- Communicate with Outlet Management regarding service issues or safety concerns.
- Resolve guest concerns using service recovery guidelines to ensure satisfaction.
- Process guest payments accurately using cash and charge procedures, when required.
- Follow all company policies and Marriott brand service standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience: Previous food service experience preferred; knowledge of restaurant operations is an asset.
- Education: Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.
- Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to work well under pressure in a team-oriented environment.
- Certificates: Alcohol service certification and/or valid food handler’s permit required as per provincial regulations.
- Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Comfortable moving around the restaurant and handling food, trays, plates, etc.
- Capable of bending, stooping, and kneeling
- Schedule: Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Work Area: Food & Beverage outlets, including restaurant, bar, and kitchen.
