At Collabware, our mission is to free organizations from information chaos. We provide intelligent information management solutions and services that focus on transparency, collaboration, and security. Our People & Culture team supports this mission by creating a thriving, people-first workplace where employees feel valued, supported, and aligned. You’ll work closely with leadership, including the CEO, and be a trusted advisor on both strategic and sensitive HR matters.

The Responsibilities


Think Big: You're not just managing HR—you’re building a better employee experience. You'll shape programs and policies that support a scalable, values-aligned culture and help us grow with intention.


Embrace and Drive Change: HR at Collabware isn’t static. You'll continuously refine policies, programs, and compliance practices to keep pace with growth, employee needs, and employment law updates.


Grow Together: Through one-on-ones, coaching, and mentoring, you’ll support employees and managers in building rewarding careers. You’ll drive engagement, learning, and performance development to help everyone level up.


Make It Happen: From advising managers on policy and legal implications to leading investigations, you handle the hard stuff with professionalism, empathy, and diligence. You ensure our people ops run smoothly and compliantly every day.


Passion for Customer Success: Our people power our product—and our product powers our customers. You'll ensure employees are connected, engaged, and empowered to deliver their best work.


The Actions

  • Define, communicate, and uphold HR policies and procedures aligned to employment law and company values
  • Ensure compliance with employment standards, and lead or support investigations into workplace issues
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, ensuring clarity, connection, and quality in every new hire experience
  • Maintain and safeguard accurate employee records and job-related data
  • Conduct regular check-ins, one-on-ones, and coaching conversations
  • Mentor and guide managers in interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, conflict resolution, and terminations
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations, workplace investigations, and HR policy interpretation
  • Champion culture-building programs and lead initiatives that engage and retain employees
  • Coordinate management and compliance training programs
  • Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, vacation, leaves, and more)
  • Conduct exit interviews and manage offboarding with empathy and insight
  • Respond to HR inquiries with clarity, discretion, and professionalism
  • Update HR policies to reflect changes in employment law and best practices

  • Deep knowledge of Canadian employment standards and human rights legislation

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources or a combination of education, training, and experience
  • CPHR designation is an asset
  • Experience supporting both strategic HR initiatives and day-to-day people operations
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing employee relations and advising managers on employment decisions
  • Experience in a SaaS or technology company preferred


Role Expectations

First Month

  • Get to know our team, values, and current people practices
  • Begin leading HR operations, reviewing compliance processes and employee files
  • Build trust with employees and leadership through early conversations and presence


First Few Months

  • Own the recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations processes
  • Update policies to ensure compliance and reflect current culture
  • Coach managers and employees on performance, feedback, and growth conversations


First Year

  • Become the go-to person for People & Culture at Collabware
  • Launch engagement and retention initiatives that support growth and well-being
  • Establish systems, processes, and programs that scale with our company

The Hiring Process

  1. We’re excited to dive into your resume – brownie points for sending a cover letter that explains why you’re interested in joining our team as well! This will help us get to know you better and learn about your experiences.
  2. If we think you may be a fit, we will reach out and set up a brief 30-minute phone call with our CEO. Here, you’ll discuss the company, role, and how your experiences and expectations align with ours. To respect your time, we will strive to complete the hiring process and make our decision within 10 business days. We won’t leave you hanging!
  3. Next, you will be invited to a 90-minute behavioral & skills interview with the CEO and another senior member of the team. Here, we’ll dive a bit more into your experiences and run through sample scenarios. This will also be a great opportunity to ask all your questions to the team!
  4. The next step in the process is a Team Fit Interview, where you will get a chance to meet a diverse group of your potential future colleagues! We take a great deal of pride in the culture we are trying to foster, and we want to make sure you’ll fit right in. Bring all the questions you can think of about the team!
  5. The final stage – a one-on-one meeting with our CEO. Here, you’ll chat about the role and the company vision. If you are in the Vancouver area, this meeting will typically be done over lunch.
