Position Description

A strong advocator and subject matter expert in the Deaf Culture. Works with other members of a school and department to support students. Assists and trains others in the use of hearing aids, sound fields, FM and Roger equipment. Possess a valid BC Driver’s License and vehicle a travel throughout the district is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or diploma in the education of the Deaf and hard of hearing
• Successful classroom experience modifying and adapting curriculum and knowledge of the K–12 curriculum, including upper-level sciences and math
• Experience and understanding of IEP process and creating transition plans
• Experience and expertise in the use of hearing aids, sound fields, FM and Roger equipment
• Fluent in American Sign Language
• Fluency in French would be an asset
  
  

The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $58,635 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
