We’re looking for a Material Expeditor @ Mississauga site, could it be you? Please note this position is a maternity-leave replacement for a duration of 15 months on a full-time basis.
Your future role
- Reporting to Material Planning Management, the Material Expeditor is responsible for managing internal and/or external suppliers’ portfolio to ensure goods delivery at right time, quantity and place based on Alstom needs.
- Flexibility and mobility are required to be able to travel (Canada and US) to various Alstom sites or to Suppliers facilities as part of the material delivery follow-up.
- While interacting daily with co-workers, external suppliers and management, all activities will be performed in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as prescribed by legislation and the ALSTOM Health & Safety policies.
- Managing suppliers and related activities to drive cost, lead time, and on time performance
- Communicating the Material Planning documents (Purchase Orders, Schedule Agreements) and follow up with Suppliers accordingly
- Analyzing Suppliers confirmations vs. Alstom needs and evaluate the risk/impact anticipation on production/service projects
- Coordinating with all departments regarding supplier related issues within assigned commodities including but not limited to Immediate Actions (I.A's) and Over, Short & Damage (O, S & D's) reports
- Updating and maintaining SAP (GSI) with accurate delivery dates and PO acknowledgment confirmation and approves invoices for payment
- Participating in Supply Chain & Capacity audits
- Applying APSYS (Alstom Production System) roadmap and Golden Rules
- Informing on a timely manner Management and Projects of any critical issues within assigned commodities
- Contributing to new business risk assessments and mitigation action plans
- Monitoring Supplier's performances KPI's and participate/lead Supplier's performances improvement
- Coordinating Delivery Crisis Solving

- Associates degree in Supply Chain / Engineering/Industrial/Business administration, or other related field
- 3-5 years relevant experience in Material Planning/Expediting
- ERP knowledge (SAP preferred)
- Excellent problem-solving skills with equally strong computer skills
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Nice to have ( Materials requirements planning, Supplier Delivery Performance Management, Inventory Management & Material Planning techniques, Transport & Distribution)
