As a Jr Futures Risk Analyst, you’ll play a key role in optimizing trading strategies, analyzing financial risks, and enhancing reporting functions. Working closely with our President, Management, and Traders, you’ll have a direct impact on our business success by identifying opportunities, improving processes, and providing valuable insights.
What You’ll Do
Management & Trader Support:
Education: Degree or diploma in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Actuarial Science.
Skills: Strong analytical and data analysis skills, with experience in time series analysis preferred.
Bonus Points: Working towardsCFA, FRM, or PRM designation (an asset).

As a Jr Futures Risk Analyst, you’ll play a key role in optimizing trading strategies, analyzing financial risks, and enhancing reporting functions. Working closely with our President, Management, and Traders, you’ll have a direct impact on our business success by identifying opportunities, improving processes, and providing valuable insights.
What You’ll Do
Management & Trader Support:
- Maintaining the master hedge book for all derivatives transactions.
- Executing derivatives trades electronically or via phone as real-time orders come in.
- Facilitating order management and providing due diligence on derivative and physical transactions.
- Identifying opportunities relating to pricing, hedging, and trade strategies
- Assisting in improving in-house risk management software and systems.
- Brainstorming with Traders to employ more efficient hedging strategies.
- Liaising with Traders and Management on market movements.
- Providing futures training to new hires.
- Providing ongoing education to experienced Traders on future strategies and insights.
- Improving and managing interdepartmental reporting functions.
- Tracking and analyzing trade profitability.
- Completing daily and monthly reconciliation, including mark-to-market reports.
- Recognizing and addressing unexpected market behaviour, dislocations, and other events that affect trade strategies.
- Analyzing the fluctuations of buying and selling commodity futures contracts.
- Building and maintaining analytical models to provide a dynamic analysis of the business.
