The Role
The Law Clerk will assist a team of quality professionals in preparation and attendance at a significant litigation project. The Law Clerk will be responsible for document review, managing and organizing physical and electronic case file documentation and liaising with other parties.

The Role
The Law Clerk will assist a team of quality professionals in preparation and attendance at a significant litigation project. The Law Clerk will be responsible for document review, managing and organizing physical and electronic case file documentation and liaising with other parties.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and organize documents;
- Preparing exhibit Lists;
- Document review;
- Management of Databases and the Document Management System (DISCO)
- Contact clients to obtain documents;
- Liaise with clients and opposing counsel
- Prepare Affidavits of Documents;
- Follow up with client and other parties for answers to Undertakings;
- Diarize file for next steps, reports, undertakings;
- Trial preparation;
- Other duties, as business needs demand.
Essential Skills & Experience
- ILCO Certification/Law Clerk diploma or equivalent academic credentials;
- Minimum one (1) year experience in civil litigation;
- Solid knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure;
- Experience providing litigation support, preferably in construction-related matters
- Proficiency in document management systems and working with databases
- Proficiency with Disco (Document Management System) is an asset.
- Experience in trial proceedings is considered an asset
- Impeccable English grammar with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Strong work ethic;
- Exceptional organization, prioritization and time management skills;
- Superior multi-tasking, analytical and problem solving skills;
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills;
- Communicating in a professional manner with lawyers and other team members;
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel; Office Suite, an asset;
- Self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team with strong sense of collaboration and positive, «can-do» attitude.
