Nature of the work
The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in being responsible for a store or warehouse and in performing various tasks related to its operation.
In addition, he or she may be required to perform the duties of a class II storekeeper.
Description of tasks
- Coordinate the decentralized or centralized operations of a store under their authority.
- Is responsible for the reception, storage, issuance, and delivery of tools, goods, equipment, and other items.
- Lend instruments, tools, and audiovisual equipment and ensure their return.
- Ensure that received goods match the purchase orders.
- Complete receipts and other documents, and note any damage or losses.
- Record the details of received goods in appropriate registers or forms, ensure that goods are properly stored, and label them if necessary.
- Deliver items from the store and prepare purchase orders for the replacement of items.
- Sell certain items and prepare deposits.
- Periodically, through a complete inventory, ensure that stock levels match the records and write reports.
- In accordance with established procedures and specific guidelines, carry out certain purchases.
- Perform minor repair and maintenance work as needed, and ensure that major repairs are carried out.
- Ensure the store is kept in good order.
- May be required to enter relevant task data into a computer using an appropriate program.
- May be required to train new storekeepers and coordinate the work of support staff.
- Perform any other related duties
Schooling
Meet one of the following profiles:
- Hold a Diploma of Vocation Studies in an appropriate specialty for the class of employment
- Hold a Secondary School Diploma or a diploma or attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority
Have six (2) years of pertinent experience.
