Job Description:

MEDICAL REP

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Onsite Medical Representative (OMR) to join our team. The Onsite Medical Representative (OMR) will work with the Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team to support the health and wellbeing of Associates (AAs). The OMR will provide first aid, advise on injuries, maintain records, coordinate workers compensation programs, and participate in training and incident investigations. This position is vacant and has the potential to turn into a full-time role.

Terms:

  • 4-month contract (extension possible)
  • 40-hours per week with night shifts
  • On-site

Responsibilities:

  • First Aid Support: Provide first aid care and refer to outside medical providers as needed.
  • Injury Healing: Advise AAs on occupational and non-occupational injuries to support their healing process.
  • Injury Prevention: Educate and engage AAs to minimize injury risks through awareness and proactive engagement.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain care records and manage workers compensation and return-to-work programs.
  • Daily Reporting: Provide daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports.
  • Coaching: Engage with AAs and leadership to coach on safe work habits.
  • Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean working environment and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory.
  • Training Participation: Participate in training and certification for first aid, CPR, and AED.
  • Drug Testing: Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols.
  • Emergency Response: Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid first aid with CPR/AED certification.
  • Must be one of the following:
  • Provincial Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Certification
  • Registered Practical Nurse (RN)
  • Medical admin does not meet the standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with workers compensation.
  • Certification to teach first aid, CPR, and AED.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with industrial wellness programs and managing musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and Workers Compensation.
  • Proficiency in digital recordkeeping.
