Founded in 1906, MG&CC is a year-round private club that offers golf, curling and tennis, dining, fitness and social amenities. Our Tudor Clubhouse is a spectacular venue for casual and fine dining, banquets, weddings and various social events and functions.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Food and Beverage, the Food and Beverage Coordinator will support throughout all stages of the F&B operations cycle. This role provides administrative and day-to-day functional support to the department and serves as a liaison between the Events, Culinary, and Beverage teams, ensuring effective and consistent communication within the Food and Beverage Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for designing and printing all wine lists, beverage menus, and casual dining menus.
  • Create and design all food and beverage-related signage for events and tournaments
  • Assist with the maintenance of POS system (JONAS) including but not limited to ensuring all menu items are updated.
  • Provide administrative and on-site support to the Catering and Events team during event and tournament days.
  • Occasional assistance with membership forward facing events / stations or greetings desk. To also include promotional stations or department information events
  • Take detailed notes during Food and Beverage operations meetings.
  • Responsible for managing and consolidating all Food and Beverage invoices and implement processes to streamline invoice receipt and minimize the use of paper through electronic documentation systems.
  • Track and record department expenses (costs, capital, uniforms, equipment, chemicals)
  • Manage and track renewal/expiry dates for all club licenses (liquor, tobacco, Eatery, etc.)
  • Maintain and input inventory pricing for end-of-month bar and kitchen inventory
  • Follow up, track, and update records of all staff Smart Serve and Food Handler certifications.
  • Implement MIS training materials for FOH staff training and as a member communication tool - to both address menu knowledge development and track membership allergen concerns
  • Coordinate/implement wine tasting and beverage training sessions, including food tasting, pairings, and bottle opening service on a continuing basis
  • Serve as the F&B representative for the social committee, coordinate and lead team-building activities and initiatives for the Food and Beverage department.
  • Complete other duties as requested

Skills & Requirements

  • 2+ years of Food and Beverage experience
  • Experience in the Private Club culture is an asset
  • Degree in Hospitality or Food and Beverage Management an asset
  • Experience in an administrative position an asset
  • Smart Serve Certification
  • Jonas Software experience an asset
  • Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a busy environment
  • Knowledge and passion for providing an exceptional experience, including effective menu design and events that elicit a “wow”
  • Collaborate with team members and share information with other departments
  • Strong commitment to professional and responsive service with the ability to deal effectively and professionally with difficult individuals
  • Communicates effectively, ensuring all details and related logistics are communicated to the appropriate individuals / departments, ensuring a seamless event
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships with internal & external stakeholders
  • Proactively identify problems and innovate solutions to challenging situations
  • Superior organizational skills to manage tight timelines and conflicting priorities
  • Focused on delivering high levels of member service and responding to all inquiries/requests in a professional manner and with a sense of urgency
  • Strong working knowledge of hospitality industry practices, methods, and techniques
  • Full-time hours to meet business demands – days and afternoons on weekdays, weekends and public holidays
