Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:

This position works for the Food Bank. You must be able to provide support to Food Bank and Thrift Store. Have organizational skills.

Basic Functions/Responsibiuties

• Ensure all pick up and deliveries are being done in a safe manner, and recorded
• Work with staff and direct volunteers reports to the Food Bank Supervisor
• Organize the warehouse; ensure rotation, and food being moved to the packing room and lobby in a timely manner
• Ensure bins, floor, cooler, and freezer, are clean daily and take out garbage
• Ensure that aisles, exits, and receiving area clear
• Ensure safe handling and use dollies and carts when moving product, maintain social distancing, no eating etc.
• -Ensure the freezer and coolers are organized appropriately so product is accessible and rotated and the temperatures are recorded. Report any deficiencies to Manager
• Ensure the product is available to hamper packers
• Schedule deliveries-Deliver Hampers when needed
• Ensure cleaning and Housekeeping standards are met
• Ensure Safe work practices when using all equipment.
• Transport large items to the dump.
• Work with Recycling products
• Other Duties as assigned
• Driving Forklift required
  
  

Qualifications And Education Requirements

Education/Certifications

• Class 5 Driver License (Drivers Abstract Required) - Grade 12 Preferred Experience:
• 2 years or more minimum warehouse and delivery experience an asset -1-2 years Truck delivery and pick up and asset
  
  

Required Skills/Knowledge

• Be bondable
• Be familiar with, and in agreement with, Salvation Army Mission Statements.
• Be familiar with local Salvation Army ministries
• The individual in this position will be dealing with the public on a daily basis. As such, the individual will be required to demonstrate a professional attitude commensurate with positive customer service.
• The individual will also be required to lift and move heavy objects
• Flexible and able to work with many groups of people -Good Organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work without constant supervision.
• A neat and clean appearance will be expected of the individual.

• The job requires you to be able to walk lift push and pull up to 50 pounds often. Use of dollies carts and pallet jacks.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $17.85 to $18.58 with a maximum of $22.29.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
