Jr Community Planner

Our client, a fast-growing company specializing in the development of wireless infrastructure across Canada is seeking a Junior Planning Coordinator to support municipal applications for development projects across Canada. The successful candidate will assist in advancing various municipal processes, ensuring timely and high-quality communication with stakeholders, and working closely with senior planning leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal governments
• Conduct proactive outreach to municipalities under the guidance of senior planning staff
• Review municipal application requirements and manage notifications, submissions, and inquiries
• Ensure completeness, accuracy, and clarity in all communications with external stakeholders
• Collaborate with internal planning and project teams to align on policies, standards, and documentation
• Assist in planning and executing public consultations, open houses, and related materials
• Draft responses to municipal, regional, and public inquiries regarding planning applications
• Perform other duties as required in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment

Requirement

• Undergraduate degree
• Valid driver’s license
• Minimum of 2 years full-time professional experience
• Two professional references
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and a solid work ethic
• Willingness to work in-office and travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in planning or a related field
• Membership in a recognized planning institute (provincial or national)
• Practical experience in community planning, zoning, or land use
