Your future role on our team
To pursue project and client development in the Sept-Îles region, BBA wants to bolster its local multidisciplinary team. Working closely with our offices in Labrador City, Montréal and Mont-Saint-Hilaire, this team is actively involved in developing the Sept-Îles region and in executing various projects in the mining and metals, and energy sectors. BBA's automation, instrumentation and control engineering teams stands out among Côte-Nord clients because of their cutting-edge technical expertise. This expertise is combined with an unrivalled commitment and understanding of the issues involved in operating and maintaining industrial power systems.
By joining our team, you’ll have the opportunity to assist our industrial clients in the energy and mining markets with their operations and their maintenance or growth projects. Your role as engineer will be to participate in engineering mandates in automation, instrumentation and control. You will also contribute to various phases of engineering and site work. As such, you may be asked to help with preparing proposals, technological choices and solutions proposed to clients.

- Help prepare plans and specifications as well as detailed engineering deliverables (P&IDs, localization drawings, I/O, loop and motor control schemes, cable and instrument lists, installation details).
- Draft reports, specifications, including construction and purchasing specifications, and calls for tenders.
- Prepare datasheets and select control instruments (flow, pressure, level) and valves.
- Provide technical assistance during construction work (electrical/instrumentation).
- Perform inspections or technical surveys.
- Help program PLCs, DCSs and operator interfaces.
- Interact with clients and provide technical support to the team in charge of business development.
- Establish and maintain client contacts.
- Establish client needs and identify new needs throughout the project.
- Participate in commercial and technical proposal preparation.

- Undergraduate degree in automated manufacturing or electrical engineering
- At least four years of relevant experience as an automation/instrumentation engineer or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience designing automated and control systems
- Knowledge of the Electrical Code
- Expertise in preoperational verifications and equipment start-up
- Experience in control system programming (SCADA, PLC, DCS)
- Available for short- and long-term assignments at client offices or sites
- Proficiency in project management, technical writing and cost estimation
- Member of a Canadian professional engineering association
- Asset: Bilingual (English and French)
- Asset: Experience with DCS (Foxboro, ABB, Emerson) and networking
