NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with on-call requirement.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Operational Estates require an Estates Manager to join our team to manage the reactive and preventative maintenance within the hospital campus buildings.
The post requires the applicant to have, or be working towards, a degree in an engineering or building discipline.
The successful individual will either be in a current AfC Band 7 estates post within GG&C, or have the relevant educational qualifications and experience for this post.
These posts require a high level of knowledge, understanding and experience of building maintenance, complex electrical / engineering systems / water systems in large healthcare premises. Experience working in estates management and a good understanding of statutory compliance requirements and operational guidance within a healthcare environment is also essential.
The successful applicant will require good communication and management skills and have the ability to work to deadlines in an ever-demanding environment. You will require to have the ability to work well unsupervised and provide leadership to those reporting to / working for you. The successful applicant will need to be able to work effectively as part of a team while fostering positive and co-operative relationships with all other groups and departments; internal and external to the organisation.
Participation in the managers on-call rota is an essential aspect of this role.
