Job Summary
Reporting to the Advisory Practice Leader, the Senior Consultant, Innovation will play a critical role in enhancing the overall effectiveness of TYLin project delivery and collaboration between all sectors. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Innovation initiatives that elevate our relationships with clients, enable the adoption of new technologies, and provide a strong differentiation on our pursuits. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital solutions, circular economy, one-water, energy transition, artificial intelligence, and data analytics within an engineering and utility environment.

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $109,400 - $164,000 annually for this position and local market. Responsibilities & Qualifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership
- Be a recognized leader in innovative initiatives and maintain strong relationships both within the company and with clients and other key stakeholders.
- Promote brand recognition and Innovation services through thought leadership. Represent TYLin and organizational development at trade associations, conferences, and client meetings, as required.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning by promoting best practices and Innovation services.
- Leverage technical capabilities, talent, and geographic reach to enhance client delivery, retain and attract the best talent, optimize performance, and drive profitable growth.
- Help project managers and sector managers apply innovative approaches and best practices to win, strengthen, and grow desirable work.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to co-develop solution blueprints and roadmaps.
- Participate in one or more of our Global Community of Practices including Artificial Intelligence, Data Insights, Digital Twins, Extended Reality, and Geospatial.
- Help elevate our relationship with clients to enable us to collaborate with them on problem solving rather than responding to RFPs after the solution has been identified.
- Translate emerging trends and technologies into actionable project opportunities.
- Document lessons learned, best practices, and frameworks for future use.
- Support the scaling of successful pilots into broader utility programs.
- Lead discussions with utility clients to identify pain points and Innovation opportunities.
- Evaluate new tools, platforms, and methodologies for potential use in client environments.
- Identify opportunities with existing clients, focusing on working with TYLin Sector Managers and CAMs.
- Work with the Advisory Practice Leader, Growth Leaders, CAMs, and Project Managers to develop strategies for cultivating prospects and obtaining work.
- Manage teaming, proposal writing, and preparation of formal interview presentations.
- Define the scope, objectives, and approach for Innovation services.
- Collaborate across the business to promote cross-selling of other Advisory services.
- Own and manage a portfolio of Innovation services that add value to client projects.
- Develop work plans, milestones, and delivery schedules for Innovation services.
- Work closely with engineering, digital, data science, and regulatory teams to implement Innovation services.
- Guide pilot programs, proof-of-concepts, and trials of new technologies.
- Monitor execution, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and are on time and within budget.
- Track KPIs and Innovation metrics to demonstrate impact and ROI.
- Coordinate with Advisory practice team to develop communication and training strategies to support adoption of new solutions.
- Coordinate with Advisory practice team to address resistance to change through stakeholder engagement and value demonstration.
- Flexibility to work on a multitude of projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
- Travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays.
- Requires Master’s Degree in relevant field.
- The ideal candidate will have approximately 15 years of increasingly responsible experience in a similar environment.
- Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.
- Strong understanding of emerging technologies (e.g., AI, IoT, digital twins, systems integration) and best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
- High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
- Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
- Experience with smart metering, business case development, and systems integration is a plus.
