The Assistant Manager, Condition Assessments is responsible for managing the systematic inspection, review, and reports on the state of operational facility structure and systems. The facilities will include EllisDon’s own operations and 3rd party buildings in a consultancy engagement. Support EllisDon Facilities Services maintain and optimize our portfolio of complex institutional facilities which are key parts of Canada’s infrastructure.

You As An Assistant Manager, Facilities Operations Will
- Proactively manage facilities condition across our portfolio - establish baseline, performing dynamic updates and supporting capital planning activity;
- Coordinate the delivery of building condition assessments to internal and external clients;
- Prepare Building Condition Assessments for each internal site on an annual basis with the assistance of the Subject Matter Experts in the organization or external vendors;
- Coordinate with external experts to conduct joint technical reviews every 5 years;
- Support sites to financially plan for and implement recommendations;
- Expand nature of assessment work as capabilities develop and market dictates - e.g. retro-commissioning, energy audits etc.;
- Build network of partners for specific elements of scopes, and to supplement in house resources - decide when to partner and when to compete;
- Manage the budget of this Technical Services offering - work with business development / strategy teams to establish revenue targets and bid external work; budget and manage project costs;
- Perform Structural, Architectural finishes, Roofing, Envelope, and Hardscaping assessments.
- Coordinate with other technical team resources to supplement skill set for Mechanical, Electrical, Controls/ICAT, and Energy audits.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree with a focus on Building Sciences or Architecture
- 2-3 years of site experience in construction, facilities maintenance, and/or performing condition assessments.
- People leadership, accountability and entrepreneurial enthusiasm
- You have excellent communication skills leading to building partnerships and implementing collaborative solutions
- You have strong critical thinking skills
- You have a good understanding of system interconnectivity in facility management
- You are detail oriented, highly organized and proficient in MS suite programs
- You are comfortable splitting time between on site and in office, with travel to sites across Canada as required.
- You are comfortable with very light physical exertion and very limited visual and/or auditory concentration, manual dexterity and/or strain.
