Position Information

The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist for Nuclear Medicine is responsible for performing all Nuclear Medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to college guidelines. This includes administration of radioactive materials orally or intravenously, and for providing proper patient care in a professional and compassionate manner. In addition, this position is responsible for receiving, manipulating and storing radioactive materials according to established radiation safety guidelines of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and hospital policies.

Basic Requirements

  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario in the speciality of Nuclear Medicine;
  • Eligible for Certification in CPR;
  • Ability to operate Nuclear Medicine equipment and software for imaging, non imaging and patient care applications;
  • Ability to perform Diagnostic Imaging procedures to professional standards;
  • Knowledge and adherence to radiation safety measures as it relates to Nuclear Medicine;
  • Ability to assist in invasive procedures;
  • Knowledge of septic and aseptic techniques;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • Good problem solving;
  • Eligible to work in Canada.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a hospital environment performing a broad range of Nuclear Medicine examinations;
  • Experience in CT and PET imaging
