HR COORDINATOR
Activity sector: Pulp and Paper
Site: On-site – 2005 Mission Flats Road Kamloops BC
Salary range: $69,380.00 – $90,000.00
Employment type: Full-time, ongoing
Schedule: Compressed Work Week (9-hour dayshifts, every other Friday off)
YOUR ROLE
The HR Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to increase employee engagement and satisfaction within the mill and community relations. This person will also act as the employee support for Total Rewards, HR Systems, communications, onboarding/offboarding, employee life events, and HR paperwork and forms.
Your Responsibilities
ü HR Admin tasks including managing and updating employee personnel files, and processing invoices and cheque requisitions.
ü Manage and create mill communications (Newsletter, Posters, boards).
ü HR Systems Lead, duties including managing and updating all systems on site with an HR component including benefits and pension webpages.
ü Participate in various mill committees and support engagement initiatives.
ü Create initiatives, activities and programs that promote a positive and inclusive work culture.
ü Supporting the HR side of onboarding and offboarding including new hire reviews, check-ins and exit interview.
ü Support mill employees with pension and benefits questions, support salaried employees with Payroll questions, manage the Tuition Refund program, EFAP and other employee benefits programs.
ü Offer support to the Schedulers and the Payroll department.
ü Provide periodic vacation coverage for the HR Advisor.
ü Develop and maintain a positive partnership with union leadership to ensure
sustainable business operations and results.
ü Develop and maintain a professional relationship with employees by
ensuring a sense of confidentiality, mutual trust, concern, respect and teamwork.
ü Successfully complete all other duties and assigned projects.

ü Change agents with the ability to collaborate well with others.
ü Experience in a unionized environment.
ü Strong problem solving & analytical skills, excellent judgment and confidentiality.
ü Proven organization skills ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands.
ü Work well in a team and possess a friendly and positive demeanor and professional image.
Your Qualifications
ü Education in Human Resources or equivalent experience.
