Position Summary
The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre (PMCC) program provides world-class cardiovascular care. One of the largest programs of its kind in North America, we are a major referral centre. Our program offers resources and expertise prepared to deal with even the most complex patient cases.
The position presents an excellent opportunity to work in a fast paced environment using state of the art technology to perform echocardiograms on a uniquely complex patient population.

Duties
- Perform ultrasound imaging procedures, as outlined in the procedure manuals to aid in patient diagnosis and/or treatment
- Operating, troubleshooting and ensuring ultrasound, echocardiology/ancillary equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner
- Preparing written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results
- Performing other related patient handling responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care
- Participating in teaching, educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities
- Completion of a recognized post diploma Cardiovascular Principles and Instrumentation (C.P.I.) program
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.), Level II Basic Rescuer Certification
- Minimum of two (2) years recent cardiac ultrasound experience
- Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Ability to function effectively in stressful situations
- Computer literacy required
- Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
- Registration with Sonography Canada or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
