We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable & Expense Analyst to join our team at our Cambridge, ON manufacturing site and Corporate headquarters.
Purpose of Position:
As a member of the Finance Team, the Accounts Payable & Expense Analyst is responsible for completing payments and controlling expenses by reviewing, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices.
Key Responsibilities
Principal Accountabilities:
- Accurate and timely entry of all invoices while ensuring appropriate levels of approval are met and appropriate filing methods used in a multi-currency and multi-entity environment.
- Manage employee expense report process.
- Perform weekly payment batches based on appropriate payment terms for manager approval, EFT’s, cheques, wires, and in multi currencies.
- Assist with month-end activities such as accounts payable reconciliations, and accruals for cut-off purposes, analyzing expense vs. budget and seeking budget variance explanations from appropriate managers.
- Using SAP support system set-up requirements for accounts payable/purchasing for the invoice approval process.
- Support other month-end, year-end and budget processes.
- Contribute to improvements in workflow, and other efficiencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Knowledge & Experience):
- College Diploma in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce or a related field is an asset.
- Two (2) to Three (3) years of experience in a similar role in a medium-to-large manufacturing environment. Preference given to those with experience in multi-currency and multi-entity environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proficient in SAP preferred or equivalent ERP system AP module.
- High degree of accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Work ethic: Possesses a strong willingness to work hard and do what it takes to get the job done.
- Communication: Speaks and writes clearly and articulately with all forms of communication (in-person, email, etc.).
- Listening Skills: Lets others speak and seeks to understand their viewpoints.

- Analytical Skills: Exhibits a probing and inquisitive mind. Able to process facts & data.
- Work is generally required to be conducted within an office environment. There may be occasions where job responsibilities could require the need to enter the manufacturing plant.
- Standard 40-hour work week. Business activities may require flexibility to work additional hours.
