Job Description

We are a smart team of doers that works passionately to ensure our systems work as specified and will transform our Canadian Army’s experiences. We are currently looking for a Junior Systems Engineering Analyst to join our Tactical Systems Integration Lab Support Team. This supports the integration and system testing before the products are fielded to the customer.

As part of the team, you will:

  • Conduct test planning, definition, reporting and supporting lab setup and configuration
  • Perform integration activities such as new features and workaround solutions, you will also prepare and deliver customer-facing test proposals and plans for new work coming into the pipeline
  • Engage with customer representatives, vendors and other department staff during the development, planning, execution and keep status on its formal and informal test cycles reporting phases.
  • Develop integration and test procedures, including configuration descriptions, execution and monitor expected outcomes in accordance with design documents
  • Plan, build, configure and validate testing operations by developing communications / system management plans and network configuration
  • Perform investigations and identify issues during testing and field exercises, including to participate in the elicitation process, prepare requirements documents and specifications
  • Other duties will include supporting external test events, field trials and writing technical reports

Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience in a related position or field of work (internship experience considered)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or applicable scientific discipline
  • Experience or knowledge of investigation, analysis, and resolution system issues; with the ability to understand the interdependencies and interactions of between subsystems
  • Experience or knowledge of the requirements lifecycle, systems engineering practices and analysis
  • Experience or knowledge of verification, validation or testing

Knowledge or experience in any of the following is considered an asset:

  • Canadian Armed Forces structure & concepts
  • Networking concepts and protocols such as DSCP, VLANs, RIP, PIM, Ethernet communications and networking
  • Programming and/or scripting language such as Python, Java, C#, Bash.
  • Working with tools such as Robot Framework, AutoHotKey, Wireshark, CORE
  • Experience working with defect tracking systems
  • Familiarity with UHF/VHF Radios, modulations schemes, and voice/data networks

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed.
