SALARY RANGE: $105,007 - $125,186
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, Health Information Management and Privacy, the Manager, Health Information Management and Privacy is responsible for the operational leadership of health records management, medical transcription, release of information and privacy compliance functions across Brightshores health System. This role ensures legal and policy compliance, fosters high standards of privacy and confidentiality, and contributes to digital transformation initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree.
- Minimum two years of leadership or supervisory experience in a unionized healthcare environment.
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in HIM and privacy roles
- Change leadership and project management experience
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records Systems
- Extensive knowledge of medical documentation standards and privacy compliance practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills to work with clinical, operational, and external stakeholders.
- Strong aptitude for analysis and interpretation of complex data and presentation skills
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record

- Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes
Preferred:
- Membership in the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)
- Certification in Privacy (e.g. CIPP/C)
- Proficiency with Oracle/Cerner EMR and other hospital information systems
- Experience with automated transcription tools and digital redaction tools
- Knowledge of digital health initiatives and information governance frameworks
