For success in this position, you will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field
- 3 - 5 years of professional environmental experience (i.e. air quality, environmental compliance, water/wastewater, etc.)
- Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario is an asset
- Familiarity with local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and permitting requirements
- Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills to effectively express technical information to multiple audiences including subcontractors, field staff, clients, colleagues, etc.
- Eager to work with multi-discipline engineering teams (i.e., geotechnical, civil, structural, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness and ability for travel for meetings, site visits, and to conduct field work, as required.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Word, Excel & Adobe
- Prepare project related technical documents including environmental reports (Phase I/II ESAs, Phase One/Two ESAs, Excess Soil Planning Documents etc.), technical specifications, and drawings for review.
- Field work and oversight associated with environmental investigations and remediation activities could include site investigations, contractor management, drilling, soil sampling, well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation, vapor sampling, etc.
- Coordination and scheduling of project related work, including working with other GHD staff, clients, external contractors, and public entities (i.e. obtain permits)
- Project management/coordination of smaller scale projects including management of budgets and invoices
- Contribute to the development of proposals and cost estimates while supporting strategic business development activities with other team members.
