The Role

The Intermediate Production Planner is responsible for ensuring best practice(s) in demand planning, inventory planning, production planning and supply planning on less complex programs & products. This position will work closely with the Master Scheduler, Purchasing and Logistics. The Production planner shall ensure that production schedules are created completed on time and within budget.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily & weekly production schedules
  • Determines production resource needs
  • Issue all production orders per planned orders and production schedule
  • Close and reconcile production/work orders
  • Report and drive solutions on material availability issues
  • Work with the Procurement specialist to solve any material shortages
  • Drive, monitor & status production progress (Work In Progress) filling in any shortages
  • Ensure that any unused material is returned to stock
  • Prepare and maintain progress and other reports
  • Create, maintain, and ensure execution of the Production Schedule
  • Work with cross functional team to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments
  • Review demand and supply to understand constraints/bottleneck and propose alternative capacity or areas needing capacity improvement to meet demand
  • Participate in business planning meetings to plan activities in future time periods
  • Recommend stock to support a pull system for products and to reduce lead-times
  • Perform ongoing analysis of weekly, monthly and future capacity to optimize product level loading and achieve manufacturing continuity during low and medium-volume months
  • Read and analyze charts, production orders, production schedules and other records/reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
  • Administer physical count activities with Material Stores Operators and reconcile inventory discrepancy
  • Perform and justify Inventory Adjustments
  • If required, generate test record document, print and watermark
  • If required, close of all test records
  • Scan receiving paperwork, verify PDF and upload file into the ERP system
  • Perform other duties as required

Required Skills/ Abilities

  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, lead business discussions and train others
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills utilizing data and reports
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills
  • Able to find new methods and principles and ability to incorporate them into existing practices as needed
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Knowledge of local and federal regulations and ordinances
  • Meticulous records maintenance skills

Education And Experience

  • 2-5years' of experience in manufacturing is an asset
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business or Supply Chain Management is an asset
  • 2-5years' experience as a Production Planner is an asset
  • Knowledge of ERP systems related to materials, scheduling, MRP, MPS, BOM operations/processes
  • Knowledge of MPS/MRP, Demand Flow, JIT, Forecasting, Inventory Planning, and Kanban, would be preferred

Comments/Special Considerations

Successful candidates must obtain and hold a security clearance at the Reliability Status level and pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.

Salary

The compensation for thie position is $81,942.64 annually.
