Reporting to the National Manager, Marketing, the Senior Specialist, Retail Marketing will be responsible for the development of our Retail advertising strategy and implementation, as well as leading the content and tools required to empower and enable Retailers to execute on National and regional strategies. The Senior Specialist, Retail Marketing is as a key member of the marketing team who works closely with our regions, Retailers (DAA) and agency partners (with a specific focus on the Shopping and Buying phases of the marketing journey).

Essential Duties Include (but Are Not Limited To)

(TIER 2) RETAIL MARKETING CAMPAIGN STRATEGY & IMPLEMENTATION

  • Define Retail (Tier 2 Shopping) strategy with National Manager, Marketing and manage the planning and development of Retail/DAA advertising campaigns
  • Support with the development of aligned marketing briefs for agencies (ensuring alignment with communication priorities, quarterly business goals and conversion and sales objectives)
  • Along with the National Manager, Marketing, lead the development of strategy, messaging & media plans associated with Tier 2 shopping journey
  • Manage the campaign calendars for each quarter in conjunction with our creative and media agencies
  • Lead the analysis and tracking of retail/DAA/ digital performance of advertising campaigns
  • Manage Retail campaign PDCA process

(TIER 3) RETAILER SUPPORT

DIGITAL & SOCIAL - PLANNING, STRATEGY & IMPLEMENTATION

  • Implement the aligned digital and social media strategy and manage the production (budget & deliverables) of all assets
  • Support with brief development, working collaboratively with Marketing team stakeholders
  • Optimize communication with our regions and our Retailer network by communicating asset availability & strategy (Memos, Toolkits, Launch Guides)

DIGITAL DEALER CERTIFIED PROGRAM - STRATEGY & IMPLEMENTATION

  • Develop and execute the program roadmap in conjunction with the National Manager, Marketing and program partner
  • Communicate and monitor actionable website program roadmap, monitor weekly and monthly analytics and performance and review quarterly website scorecards
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and agency teams to support key initiatives across Retailer websites
  • Communication governance oversight (Pricing, offers, guidelines, etc)
  • Support with resolving escalated Retailer and vendor issues
  • Manage the monthly program billing, budget review and forecast meetings

CERTIFIED LEAD MANAGEMENT PROGRAM - PLANNING & IMPLEMENTATION

  • Manage the Certified Lead Management Program and review weekly and monthly analytic reports
  • Provide marketing team stakeholders with ongoing program updates (program performance and reporting)
  • Inform Retailers and the MCI field team on any key program changes

ADMINISTRATION & BUDGET MANAGEMENT

  • Communication of marketing initiatives to internal and external stakeholders for key brand initiatives, Retail/DAA campaigns and product launches
  • Liaison with all Mazda Canada divisions (Legal, Incentives, Regions and Retailers)
  • Support with Retailer meetings and governance
  • Support annual budget development and monthly budget reconciliation including managing purchase requests and invoice submission
  • Administration of the Mazda Canada Retailer advertising support program
  • Responsible for managing Mazda advertising guidelines and monthly governance

Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge & Skills Required)

  • Post-Secondary education, preferably in Business, Marketing, or another related discipline
  • Minimum (4-7) years of experience, preferably automotive related
  • Experience with budget management
  • Marketing experience including digital, mobile, social and traditional (automotive preferred)
  • Retail experience in the Automotive, either at manufacturer, or agency
  • Experience working effectively in partnership with a broad range of individuals and organizations
  • Integrated business understanding and/or advertising experience an asset
  • A diversified self-starter with the ability to implement a variety of projects with multiple/conflicting deadlines
  • Strong creative, strategic, planning and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, Office, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated and a team player
  • Bilingual (French) is an asset
