The Financial Analyst (Contract) position reports to the Finance Manager. The ideal candidate will be organized, analytical, have specific knowledge of accounting policies, show attention to detail, an excellent communicator, able to understand and apply complex processes, as well as have advanced Excel skills.


Responsibilities:


Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze financial data, trends, and performance metrics.
  • Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Provide insights on cost reduction and revenue optimization.
  • Prepare applicable Journal Entries

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in developing budgets and financial projections.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets.
  • Recommend adjustments based on financial trends.

Financial Modeling & Data Analysis

  • Develop financial models to assess business scenarios.
  • Use Excel and SAP financial software for data analysis.
  • Identify key drivers of financial performance.

Business & Strategic Support

  • Support management with data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide recommendations for investment and risk mitigation.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in internal audits and risk assessments.
  • Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration/commerce majoring in Finance or Accounting.
  • Actively pursuing accounting designation (CPA) will be an asset
  • knowledge of accounting principles and practices and regulations with demonstrated analytical analysis of financial statements.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Minimum two years of practical training and work experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with Audit standards and working with auditors considered an asset.
