We’re looking for an experienced Press Operator who will work in our Labels department to set up and operate a 3-8 colour rotary flexographic press with UV and digital imaging capabilities (OMET, MarkAndy, Aquaflex, Nilpeter) to produce high quality products for our valued clients, while keeping waste to a minimum.

We’re looking for an experienced Press Operator who will work in our Labels department to set up and operate a 3-8 colour rotary flexographic press with UV and digital imaging capabilities (OMET, MarkAndy, Aquaflex, Nilpeter) to produce high quality products for our valued clients, while keeping waste to a minimum.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret order requirements on the production docket and set up press as required, ensuring to follow docket instructions.
- Mount flexible plates on cylinders, install dies as needed, install print cylinders on shafts and set assembly into modules on press.
- Determine anilox volume required, fill ink trays and/or pumps, monitor and maintain viscosity of inks.
- Set impression of plate to anilox roll and impression cylinder.
- Set die strike impression as required for construction for up to 4 die stations.
- Regulate roll tension during press run for registration of print to die.
- Run press to maximum speed as determined by the job complexity and quality expectations for roll to roll, roll to fanfold or roll to sheeter products.
- Troubleshoot problems such as ink and registration.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Completion of Secondary School (Grade 12) diploma or equivalent certificate
- Proven experience and product knowledge in flexographic print products and presses. Experience with OMET, Mark Andy and Nilpeter presses are a strong asset
- Experience running shrink sleeves is beneficial
- Excellent Oral and written communication skills in English
- Basic mathematic skills
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs
- Availability to work Day (7am-3pm), Afternoon (3pm-11pm) and Night (11pm-7am) shifts, on a 2 week rotating basis
