As the Business Systems lead, you are a subject matter specialist in business systems management. You are responsible for overseeing business systems’ needs and requirements to ensure that timelines and costs are met while delivering high-quality solutions. You are an expert at analyzing and interpreting business needs, developing innovative solutions, and guiding the implementation of functional business plans. You will be playing an active role in solving unusual and complex problems, taking a broad perspective to improve systems and processes.

Motivations:
- Leads project execution by guiding the implementation of system changes, ensuring that system development projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards which include adhering to system ethics and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) requirements.
- Analyzes and interprets business and system issues to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization
- Guides teams in leveraging emerging technologies and best practices to address complex operational challenges.
- Tracks project progress and performance, by identifying risks and recommending correction actions.
- Provides regular updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
- Ensures that all system developments follow best practices in security, compliance, and performance optimization.
- Leads project planning by developing comprehensive system development project plans that outline tasks, timelines, resources, and milestones to meet business requirements.
- Leads low-code application development by developing and managing low-code applications such as JIRA and QuickBase and providing guidance and direction on the architecture and development requests within these systems.
- 5+ years of related experience in system development and project management or in a similar role
- 5+ years of experience designing operational database pipelines involving 3rd party apps, including low-code platforms such as JIRA and Quickbase
- Experience with low code applications such as JIRA and QuickBase is required
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PowerShell scripting is required
- Expert knowledge of business systems and reporting best practices; ability to translate business requirements into robust system and reporting design specifications.
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders
- Ability to identify constructability issues in moderately complex situations and develop non-routine solutions in the construction plan and schedule
- Knowledge in Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) is considered an asset
- This is a hybrid position where you will be required to be in the office two times per week
