Job Description

As our new Early Career Fluvial Processes Specialist, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal. Our team is composed of fluvial geomorphologists and water resources engineers focused on delivering high quality technical studies to support land development, infrastructure projects, and natural channel designs.

Role

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in fluvial geomorphology, hydrology, and open-channel hydraulics and interest in or experience with stream restoration, river systems, natural sciences, and aquatic ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities:


  • Collect, compile, manage and assess geomorphology, hydrology, and hydraulic data
  • Contribute to fluvial geomorphology and open-channel hydraulic assessments
  • Technical report writing
  • Work collaboratively across offices and disciplines

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:


  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant geoscience or engineering discipline (e.g., physical geography, geology, water resources engineering, environmental engineering)
  • Eligibility for membership, with Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) or Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) would be considered an asset
  • Master’s degree in relevant geoscience or engineering discipline would be considered an asset but not required
  • Familiarity with GIS software
  • Experience completing fluvial geomorphology field work such as measuring bankfull cross-sections
  • Familiarity with total station and RTK GPS survey methods
  • The ability to travel to remote areas safely and efficiently to undertake fieldwork
