The Village at St Clair located in Windsor, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Full-Time Program for Active Living (PAL) Coordinator to join their Retirement team.

This will be a temporary contract position for approximately 1 year.

To be successful as our new PAL Coordinator, you will:

  • Have a Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation
  • Design and implement innovative cognitive and physical exercise programs for residents, both individuals and in groups
  • Collaborate with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to ensure resident goals are met
  • Be familiar with completing resident transfer assessments
  • Collaborate with external partners in order to provide exceptional service to our residents
  • Provide leadership and supervision of Kinesiology Co-Op placements, Students and Volunteers who assist with the PAL program
  • Facilitate education sessions such as lift & transfer, body mechanics, active living
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the role

It would be an asset if our new PAL Coordinator has:

  • Registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, regulations and best practices a Experience and/or desire to provide educational sessions/ seminars
  • Demonstrated experience working with seniors and/or persons with cognitive or physical impairments
  • Experience working in the retirement and long-term care sector (eg. School placement)
