Salary range: $75,000 to $85,000 CAD

What You Will Be Doing

Inspection and Quality Control:

  • Thoroughly inspect fabricated rebar to ensure it matches the specifications outlined in the drawings, including dimensions, bends, and cuts.
  • Inspect inserts to ensure they are correctly placed and of the required quality, verifying they meet project requirements.
  • Compare the fabricated rebar and inserts to the approved shop drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
  • Ensure that the correct quantity of correctly fabricated and material is correctly tagged.

Safety And Compliance

  • Ensure a safe working environment by following safety protocols.
  • Review and interpret plans, blueprints, site layouts, specifications, or construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.

Other

  • Position and secure steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms, using fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, or hand tools.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of fabricated rebar and inserts, verifying compliance with project specifications, and ensure that the fabricated materials are ready for shipment.
  • Conduct detailed on-site inspections of ongoing construction projects.
  • Review and interpreting plans, blueprints, site layouts, and specifications.
  • Other duties as required.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or in other relevant field
  • Familiarity with building code requirements and access to material standards and reference codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret machine schematics.
  • Skills in working with goods and materials manually or with machines are also required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with finishing & repair of concrete on the site.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
