The company is seeking a skilled, forward-thinking, and experienced Actuary to lead pricing analysis, ensure compliance with Canadian actuarial standards, and support strategic decision-making. This role involves mentoring junior analysts, driving cross-functional initiatives, and delivering clear, impactful insights to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a collaborative mindset and a passion for innovation, contributing to key areas such as underwriting, product development, and claims management.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE :
- Play a key role in pricing analysis, ensuring alignment with Canadian Accepted Actuarial Practices.
- Mentor and oversee junior analysts, offering guidance and reviewing their work for quality and accuracy.
- Prepare insightful reports that highlight key findings, emerging issues, and recommended actions.
- Effectively communicate complex actuarial concepts and results to both internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, through clear verbal and written presentations.
- Take ownership of major initiatives, leading cross-functional projects from conception to completion.
- Drive enhancements in analytical methodologies by identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Build a strong understanding of core business operations such as underwriting, product innovation, and claims management.
- A university degree (Bachelor’s or higher) in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong foundation in actuarial methodologies, with at least four years of hands-on experience across multiple actuarial domains.
- Fellowship with the CAS (or a similar actuarial body) achieved or nearing completion.
- Proven ability to work effectively in team environments and foster collaborative relationships.
- Outstanding communication abilities—both verbal and written—paired with sharp analytical thinking, sound judgment, and a solid grasp of the insurance industry.
- Driven by innovation, with a passion for questioning existing processes and offering imaginative, effective business solutions.
- Proficient in analytical tools, with advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with programming and data tools such as Python, SQL, R, VBA, PySpark, or SAS is a strong asset.
- Different combinations of relevant experience and education may be considered.
- Deep expertise in actuarial analysis with a proven ability to translate complex data into strategic business insights
- A respected and confident professional who earns trust and leads by example, fostering collaboration across teams.
- Known for driving innovation in actuarial methodologies and introducing forward-thinking solutions to enhance organizational performance.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, insurance pricing strategies, and industry best practices.
- Broad actuarial experience across various insurance lines and business functions, bringing a fresh and holistic perspective.
- A strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to influence decision-making and contribute to sustainable business growth.
