Required immediately, our ABBOTSFORD Branch is seeking a Full Time CUSTOM STONE FABRICATOR.
FLOFORM Countertops is a Canadian company with its head office in Winnipeg, MB and has 16 branches and 5 manufacturing facilities located in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Position Summary
Custom Fabricators in our Stone Plants are focused on assembling and fabricating our more ornate and elaborate countertop jobs, turning stone into a beautiful works of art! This role is responsible for a variety of tasks in the shop to make this happen, including grinding, polishing, laminating, sealing, and inspecting our countertops. The position requires the safe and efficient use of a variety of equipment and mechanical lifters. Our shop is a team based environment, and we are looking for someone who is can get along with others and support maintaining a safe, efficient and enjoyable work environment.

The position requires the safe and efficient use of a variety of equipment and mechanical lifters. Our shop is a team based environment, and we are looking for someone who is can get along with others and support maintaining a safe, efficient and enjoyable work environment.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- 1+ years’ experience in a similar role with stone fabrication on natural and engineered stones, including porcelain
- Must be hard working, motivated, well organized and task oriented.
- Basic computer skills, MS Office
- Strong communication (both written and verbal)
- Ability to measure accurately with a tape measure and calipers (Metric and Imperial)
- Demonstrated knowledge of stone fabrication and hand tools (polishers, grinders, lift support equipment etc.)
- Has or can obtain forklift operator’s certificate
- Strong attention to detail.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Able to withstand exposure to water (hands/feet) for extended periods of time
- Able to work with hand tools using wrist and fine manipulation for long periods of time
- Able to lift 60-100lbs occasionally
- Grinds, polishes, contours, measures and inspects stone tops to conform to template specifications
- Prepares and cuts edging pieces to size as per specifications. Laminates stacked or mitered edges using correct process and adhesives
- Polishes, fills and repairs areas to remove surface defects
- Reviews technical drawings of stone tops to understand edging or modification requirements/dimensions
- Maintains a safe work area, clean and clear of debris and clutter. Using water at all times to remove silica dust from the environment
- Sets up work area by loading stone tops onto carts, using safe lifting practices and mechanical lift support when required
- Utilizes computer systems to update order status, and mark progress
- Unloads parts from work areas onto storage/shipping frames as required
- Reviews workspace for cleanliness and safety.
- Must be able to follow safety rules and work safely around equipment, cranes and forklifts
- Supports loading and unloading of equipment with guidance for efficient operation
- Supports other work areas as required and assigned by Supervisor
- Attends and participates in team huddles and training activities
- Other duties as assigned
- Wage $28-35 per hour. Depending on experience
