What you will do
Are you looking to gain Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning (HVAC) knowledge and learn firsthand from industry-leading professionals? Our team will give you this opportunity, in addition, we provide factory certification through our Service Technical Academy (STA). We will equip you with tools and a vehicle to perform your job at the highest standard.
How you will do it
- Apprentices will be trained and will perform HVAC equipment and controls maintenance and repairs at client sites.
- Will participate in certified trainings through Service Technical Academy that will build skill sets to provide continued opportunities for advancement
- Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and meet customer needs
- Keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed.
- Meet attendance requirements for required training for first-year.
- This may be part of the Bargaining Unit
- 1st-Year HVAC Refrigeration Apprentice (313A) with UA Local 787 or Entry-Level HVAC Mechanic willing to join the union as a 1st-Year Apprentice.
- Valid ODP/ODS Certification
- Valid G.2 Certificate (Gas Technician 2)
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computers (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
- Adherence to company safety program.
- Familiarity with HVAC equipment commercial, industrial, or institutional.
- Ability to perform general building maintenance.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- A valid Full G driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
- Willingness to supplement on-the-job training with training provided through the UA Local 787 JTAC and OCOT apprenticeship program.
- Ability to be on-call as required.
- This position is open to union and non-union apprentices.
