Assistant Superintendent

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for our client, a reputable general contractor on Vancouver Island with a steady pipeline of projects. The assistant superintendent will take part in a multi-family wood frame project in Victoria.

• Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

Responsibilities

• Plans and reviews project specifications and assists in developing construction schedules and site management plan
• Oversees site setup, including enclosures, offices, access, and utilities, and ensures adherence to the site safety program.
• Monitors construction progress, enforces schedules, and ensures cleanliness and maintenance of the site.
• Coordinates activities between trades and suppliers, maintains daily logs, and leads effective site meetings.
• Implements quality control programs, including mock-ups, in-suite finishes, upgrades, and ensures accuracy in trade progress certificates
• Works with authorities and consultants to obtain occupancy permits and coordinates the commissioning of all equipment.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an assistant superintendent or foreman
• Must have worked on at least one wood frame, multi-family residential project
• Journeyman trade certification or equivalent experience required
• Vancouver Island residents preferred, but will accept applicants from elsewhere
