Superheat is looking for a Corporate Accounting Analyst based out of our Sarnia Office. The Corporate Accounting Analyst - General Accounting is responsible for overseeing general accounting duties such as daily general journal transactions, assisting with month-end closing procedures, providing support to other members of finance team and users of accounting system, monitoring balances of the credit card and expense accounts, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Responsible for day-to-day general journal transactions-including but not limited to: FX Trades, Corrections, Recurring Entries, non-customer receipts and sales accruals
Monitor the expense accounts to ensure funds are available for employee reimbursements and upload weekly reimbursement file
Assist with month-end closing procedures
Reconciliation of assigned accounts and maintain the Inter-Company loans spreadsheets
Ensure that the state income tax payments (passed on info provided by accounting firm) are made and reconcile account 2610 for all entities
Ensure all registrations are up to date and that legislative compliance is maintained.
Maintain accurate information on all US business locations and ensure all applicable US Property tax/ assessments are appropriately filled, accrued and paid
Maintain the capital obligations spreadsheet
Continued support for inter-company sales orders, inventory issues and Fixed Assets
Oversee the continued reconciliations and reports on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
Complies various reports and analysis for management review on an as needed/requested basis, that will aid management in the decision-making process
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Superior communication and organizational skills
High level of computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Excel
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Work and Educational Experience
5 Years Of Experience Preferred
Experience with US accounting systems an asset
Post-secondary education in a related field
Accounting designation or working towards is considered an asset
Completion of accounting courses or relative work experience
