Job Description

Job Title: Technical Manual Illustrator

The Technical Manual Illustrator create, audit and update a variety of manuals and documentations to ensure that they are accurate and available for appropriate departments. Additionally, the Technical Manuals Illustrator is responsible for creating 3D Computer animations that will demonstrate the correct installations of aftermarket products, service procedures and general machine familiarizations. 

Responsibility

Gather information from engineering, service, suppliers and shop floor personnel to update or create new Operating and Parts & Service Manuals 

Create and write field installations including, but not limited to, attachments, options, bulletins and R&R Instructions 

 Create and convert 3D SolidWorks models into visually appealing graphics with animation 

Review and/or edit documents for accuracy and completeness  

Prepare a variety of documents for translation 

 Write and monitor work instructions 

 Archive and file technical documents 

 Ensure that all assigned tasks are completed within required timelines 

 Other duties as assigned  

Academic/Educational Requirements

A university degree or college diploma in a relevant field

Required Skills/Experience

Three years Illustration experience in a technical environment 

Proficient with InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator software 

Competent knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD/Draftsight, SolidWorks Composer 

Experience with HTML/Graphics/Web Layout Design would be an asset 

High level of creativity, with the ability to perform to standard under tight deadlines 

Ability to work independently or in a team as required 

Strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently.
