The Role

The Blender Helper is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient production of high-quality coffee products by assisting with equipment operation, material handling, and blending activities. This role ensures compliance with all Plant GMP, food safety, quality, and Health & Safety policies and procedures while maintaining Mother Parkers' quality standards and product specifications. The Blender Helper works closely with the production team to support smooth operations, maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, and contribute to overall production efficiency.

  • Report any Environmental, Health and Safety concerns to management
  • Understand, support and comply with all food safety and quality policies/procedures as per SQF Code which includes but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), Food Security, Kosher, Organic, Allergen, NHP, Hygiene, government regulations and customer requirements.
  • Attend SQF, GMPs and Quality training as required
  • Responsible to report food safety problems and/or quality problems to Managers/Supervisors or person with authority to initiate actions.
  • Operate vacuum-lift system to load tea and ingredients on conveyor and/or skid
  • Operate auto-cut for tea sacs
  • Position filled totes at each station as required by production and remove empty totes as required
  • Complete Microsoft AX transactions
  • Weigh and stage ingredients for blend (specialty blending)
  • Clean all magnets in system as required
  • Cross check shop order and materials to prevent errors
  • Operate the Blending System when required (i.e. Vacation relief)
  • Perform circle check on lift truck
  • Knowledge of SOPs for machine operation, cleaning, CQPs
  • Must successful complete work instructions for associated work centers and applicable standard operating procedures
  • Responsible to report food safety problems and/or quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate actions.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • In the event that the employee is absent from work or unable to perform his/her full duties, a trained designate shall be temporarily assigned
  • Troubleshooting the equipment to determine the cause of problems and resolve if possible
  • Stop production line if there specifications do not meet standards with either the product or machinery

What You Bring To The Role

  • High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including frequent lifting.
  • Willingness to learn and apply manufacturing best practices.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and resolve issues professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and right-first-time performance.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to follow directions while taking initiative.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment operation; technical experience is considered an asset.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of GMPs, SOPs, food safety, quality standards, and health & safety practices is an asset.
  • Ability to successfully complete equipment operation and job-specific training requirements.
  • Lift truck and hoist certifications are considered assets (training may be provided where required).
  • Must successfully complete a mechanical aptitude assessment.
